How to test
Dim the room, open the black screen in fullscreen, and let your eyes adjust. Look around the edges and corners for bright patches or uneven glow.
Some glow can be normal depending on the panel type, brightness and viewing angle.
Common mistakes
Do not test with room reflections on the screen. Do not judge from an extreme side angle unless that is how you normally use the monitor.
Lower brightness and test again if everything looks washed out.
Warranty note
If a new display has a clear issue, take photos at normal brightness and contact the seller or manufacturer. This is not legal advice.
